The Marlows are spending their first Christmas at Trennels. Peter finds an old junkroom and turns it into his den. He, Ginty, Nicola, Lawrie and Patrick use it as a meeting place. Ginty tells the others about the Gondal stories the young Brontes used to act out, and they decide to make up a similar saga themselves. But make-believe can be dangerous if it becomes too real...
